Pedro Almodóvar’s THE ROOM NEXT DOOR Gets Netflix Streaming Premiere Date

The Sony Pictures Classics drama THE ROOM NEXT DOOR is set to make its SVOD debut later this month, arriving on Netflix on April 19th, 2025. The film world premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival before launching in US theaters in limited release on December 20th, 2024. It hit PVOD on February 18th, 2025.
The Room Next Door is written and directed by Almodóvar in his English-language full-length debut, and is based on the novel What Are You Going Through by Sigrid Nunez. It stars Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore alongside John Turturro and Alessandro Nivola.
In the film, Ingrid, a best-selling writer, rekindles her relationship with her friend Martha, a war journalist with whom she has lost touch for a number of years. The two women immerse themselves in their pasts, sharing memories, anecdotes, art, movies—yet Martha has a request that will test their newly strengthened bond.
